DJ is an approximately 2 year old, male, Pitbull Terrier mix; DJ weighs approximately 77lbs, and is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. This handsome boy has such a great personality, friendly, goofy, and playful, and he’s quickly become a favorite of staff and volunteers, alike. We’re not sure how long DJ had been a stray for before we took him in at Haven, but he had been being cared for and worked with by a caring Good Samaritan. He was a little overwhelmed when he first arrived, but it didn’t take long for his personality to shine through, and in no time at all he was doing happy dances when you’d approach his kennel, and going full on zoomies when he was able to go out to one of our yards for playtime. He does love to run out in the yard, and we’re teaching him to play fetch, but most of the time he just wants to be near you, getting loved on. He is a very affectionate boy, so do not be surprised when he wants to jump up in your lap, or at least put his giant paws on your lap, lean in, and cover your face with kisses! He’s been with us for a short time, so we haven’t introduced him to other dogs face-to-face, yet, but he has shown positive interactions, including play bows, when he’s been walked past other dogs. We are working on his basic obedience training, and he knows sit, and while he was initially very hesitant on a leash, he has made great strides, and now he now even seems to enjoy going for walks. Because of his size and exuberance, we think he would do well in a home without any small/young children.
