PALS Haven Pet of the Week - Slate copy

Slate is an approximately 2 year old, neutered male, DSH Grey cat. We took this special guy in after he was struck by car; he was taken to a vet by a Good Samaritan, and, fortunately, he had not suffered any serious physical injuries. After we took him in, though, and he was back up on his paws, we did start to notice that he was displaying symptoms of neurological trauma. Mostly, his neurological condition manifests itself in unsteady body movements when he’s moving about; he’s able to get around fairly well, but he does have a wobbly gait when walking, he sways as he moves around, and he sometimes loses his balance, though he’s quickly back on his feet. Slate really is a very sweet cat, he loves to be pet, and scratched behind his ear, but he does get over stimulated, so we try to give him love in small doses. Slate gets to hang out with some of our other cats, mostly our senior group, and he does well hanging out with them because they’re usually quiet and mellow. We know that it’s going to take a very special home to give Slate the safe and loving space he needs, and that can handle his neurological needs, but we truly believe that there’s a home for him out there, somewhere! If you think you can provide this special boy with the love and care that he needs, please come in and ask to meet Slate!
