Extra! Extra!

Firestar

This week's Rescue Corner features Firestar and Athena!

This week we're sharing the stories of two of our rescues that prefer the company of people over the company of their fellow felines and canines, and so would need to be solo pets in the home.

Firestar was part of the very first litter born at PALS Haven! He had a very attentive mother, and some very cute and cuddly siblings, and they all got along very well as kittens, but at some point he decided he preferred to fly solo, so he's got his own cat condo, with no roommates! He definitely has an independent side to him, but when he warms up to you, he can be friendly and affectionate!

Athena came to us at the age of 10 years old. This sweet girl had been with her person since she was just a pup, but her owner's living and financial circumstances led her to the hard decision of giving her up. Athena was very clearly bonded with her, and it took us some time to engage and build trust with her; with those of us that she's let in, she is an absolute sweetheart that loves attention, belly rubs, and treats! When it comes to other dogs, though, well, she'd rather be the only dog in the mix, and we think she's earned the right to hogging all of the attention! Athena isn't quite ready for adoption, yet, as she still needs to be spayed (and we need to run blood work to make sure that spaying her would be safe).

If you're interested in meeting Firestar or Athena, or any of the other 100+ adoptable animals we have waiting to find their forever home, please come in and get to know them! We're open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, and you do not need an appointment to meet our adoptable animals!
