This week's Rescue Corner features Hope and Chief!
Adopted from PALS in 2014, Hope is a sweet old girl who was recently returned to Haven after her owner passed away. Our records indicate that she is nearly 17 years old! It didn't take her long to settle in, and become a staff favorite; she meows anytime you walk by her condo, and rewards your attention with some snuggles. We know that it's harder to adopt our senior cats, but we're hoping to find her a nice quiet home where she can live out her golden years, and enjoy peace and love in a home for the rest of her life.
Chief is a tail of two dogs, in a way. With staff and volunteers, he is a playful, goofy, and energetic dog that loves to be around you, but, when it comes to meeting new people, he is usually very, very shy. He needs to really build up trust before someone new gets to see his full personality. We've had several interested parties visit him a few times, and we saw them making progress with him, but, unfortunately, they didn't follow through to the point of adopting him. Though that was disappointing, it did show us that a positive outcome was possible, so we still have hope that Chief's person is out there, just waiting to finally meet him!
If you're interested in meeting Hope or Chief, or any of the other 100+ adoptable animals we have waiting to find their forever home, please come in and get to know them! We're open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, and you do not need an appointment to meet our adoptable animals!
